Zoom Talk: Wednesday May 11th 7pm
Message from Havant Climate Alliance: Please pass this on to anyone else who might be interested in this free event.
We are facing two inseparably linked crises, the climate and nature emergency. We cannot solve one crisis without tackling the other – nature’s recovery is vital for tackling climate change, while the climate crisis increasingly impacts wildlife locally and globally. Nature fundamentally underpins a thriving and sustainable economy and healthy society.
Dave Allwright from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust will be telling us about their campaign to get councils to declare a nature emergency and commit to create targets and a strategy to take action to restore nature locally.
Councils have an enormous impact in your local community and could act to put local nature in recovery. And we need to see councils view nature strategically throughout all its decisions, alongside the climate emergency.
